Eucerin Acute Calm Spray

Eucerin Acute Calm Spray has been specially formulated to deliver both immediate and long-lasting itch relief. It is clinically proven to reduce symptoms of itchy skin within 60 seconds with results that last for up to six hours.¹

Clinical and dermatological studies prove very good efficacy and skin tolerability. Suitable for localized itching due to dry skin for children from the age of three.

Among other clinical and dermatological studies, a clinical study¹ was conducted with 32 patients with very dry & irritated skin who regularly suffer from itchy skin. After applying the spray twice daily for two weeks 94% confirmed that it ‘has a cooling and refreshing effect on the skin’.

Eucerin OMEGA Acute Care Cream and Eucerin Acute Calm Spray have been specially formulated with active ingredients that soothe itchy skin.

Eucerin OMEGA Acute Care Cream contains Menthoxypropandiol and Decanediol to calm and soothe skin during flare-ups of very dry & irritated skin:

• An extract of menthol, Menthoxypropandiol activates natural cooling receptors (known as TRPM8) found in the nerve endings in skin. The resulting cooling sensation reduces feelings of itchiness.
• Anti-bacterial Decanediol combats the Stapphylococcus Aureus bacteria associated with very dry & irritated skin.

The formula also contains the unique active ingredient complex used in the daily-use basic care products in the range:

• Licochalcone A: an extract of liquorice which soothes skin and reduces redness
• Ceramides: to strengthen skin’s barrier function

The key actives in Eucerin Acute Calm Spray are Menthoxypropandiol, SymSitive* and Polidocanol:

• As in the Acute Care Cream, the Menthoxypropandiol cools skin and works at a sensory level to reduce feelings of itchiness
• SymSitive* calms skin, stops any stinging and reduces redness. It does this by blocking an itch-related receptor known as TRPV1 (transient receptor potential vanilloid 1) and calming the skin’s nervous system.
• Polidocanol soothes skin by reducing the signals of itchiness in the cells of the epidermis (the outer layers of skin. It does this by inhibiting the release of TSLP (Thymic Storal Lymphoietin) an itch mediator created by the keratinocytes (a type of epidermal cell).

As well as being used to calm skin during a flare-up, the spray can also be used in the periods between flare-ups when skin is a bit itchy. The product should not be used on open wounds.
